Adjoint flats

The conversion scheme for adjoining flats includes two options:
Option 1: Buying 2 adjoining units of 3-room or smaller flat.
Option 2: Currently own a 3-room or smaller flat and buying an adjoining 3-room or smaller flat.
Requirements:
- Must form a family nucleus with:
- Spouse and children, if any, or
- Parents and siblings, or
- Children under legal custody, care, and control (for widowed, divorced, or separated persons).
Conditions:
- For Option 1: Need to fulfill EIP and SPR Quota.
- For Option 2: No restriction on EIP and SPR Quota.
- On completion of the purchase, the lessees must construct an opening of at least 1 metre by 2.2 metre between the two units in a spot approved by the HDB.
- After the purchase, the existing flat number will be retained, while the adjoining flat number will be dropped. There will be a single lease.
- The combined flat cannot be sub-divided again for resale, transfer, or surrender.
- Financing scheme for such combined flats is the same as other flat types.
