Can I use CPF for the purchase of an HDB shophouse

You cannot use CPF savings to purchase an HDB shophouse. HDB shophouses are categorised as commercial properties in Singapore, and CPF funds are strictly not allowed for the purchase or financing of commercial properties, including shophouses, regardless of whether they include a residential component. Payment for both the downpayment and mortgage must be made fully in cash or via a bank loan. Only the purchase of residential properties is eligible for CPF usage under current regulations.
