Inspectors in Singapore have several powers when it comes to property inspections. They can:
- Enter any premises at reasonable hours to search for, seize, and remove any book, document, material, or article, or make copies as necessary.
- Require any person to furnish evidence of their identity.
- Order the attendance of any person within Singapore who appears to be acquainted with the facts or circumstances of the case.
- Examine orally any person believed to be acquainted with the facts or circumstances of the case and record their statements.
- Require any person to furnish information or produce any book or document in their possession, and inspect, copy, make extracts from, or seize and remove such items.
- Take photographs or video recordings of the premises and persons believed to be acquainted with the facts or circumstances of the case.
All statements, answers, information, and documents obtained during the investigation are admissible in evidence in any proceedings under the Act against the person making or producing them.
