A Singapore Permanent Resident must obtain special approval from the Singapore Land Authority to buy landed properties (other than those in Sentosa Cove). They can directly purchase landed homes in Sentosa Cove without prior approval, but for any other landed property, the approval process involves applying to the Controller of Residential Property.
