How much stamp duty to pay for purchase with trust?

For the purchase of a residential property through a trust in Singapore, you would need to pay the Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD) at a rate of 65% of the purchase price or market value of the property, whichever is higher. This rate applies to all transfers of residential properties into a living trust, effective from May 9, 2022.
In addition to ABSD, you would also need to pay the Buyer's Stamp Duty (BSD), which is computed based on the purchase price or market value of the property. The BSD rates are as follows:
- 1% on the first $180,000
- 2% on the next $180,000
- 3% on the next $640,000
- 4% on the remaining amount
These duties are payable upfront when the property is transferred into the trust.
