Is there going to be a new mall in Hougang?

Yes, a new integrated mixed-use development with a major retail mall is planned for Hougang Central above Hougang MRT station. A CapitaLand-UOL consortium won the site tender with a $1.5 billion bid in December 2025, featuring around 830 residential units and about 300,000 sq ft of net lettable retail space—nearly double the size of Hougang Mall. This will be the largest mall in Hougang, integrated with the bus interchange and designed as a civic hub.
