Regulations for renting out a private residential property in Singapore

- All occupants are to fulfil a minimum stay duration of three consecutive months. You are not allowed to rent out your property for use as Short-Term Accommodation e.g. on a daily or weekly basis.
- Private residential properties smaller than 90sqm are subject to an occupancy cap of six unrelated persons per property. Unrelated persons refer to anyone who is not part of the same family unit. Domestic helpers are considered part of the same family unit. The occupancy cap also applies to tenants who sublet the property.
- Private residential properties of at least 90sqm, from 22 Jan 2024 till 31 Dec 2026, there will be a temporary relaxation of the occupancy cap to allow up to eight individuals.
