The Bugis area is undergoing significant transformation, with several major developments reshaping its landscape.
1. Guoco Midtown
Guoco Midtown is a 950,600 sq ft mixed-use development set to transform the Beach Road district with its innovative approach to public spaces and urban living. It features Grade A offices and over 170,000 sq ft of plazas and gardens, including 34,000 sq ft of vertical greenery, designed for exercise, events, and social interactions. The development is connected to the Bugis MRT interchange, and there are plans for linkways to Suntec City and the City Hall area.
2. Shaw Tower Redevelopment
The new development will feature 435,000 sq ft of Grade A office space and a five-storey podium with 15,700 sq ft of retail, replacing the 1970s building. Led by Lendlease, the project is expected to finish by 2025. It will offer sustainable, forward-thinking office spaces equipped with modern amenities, cutting-edge technology, and robust digital infrastructure to enhance health and workplace experience.
3. Golden Mile Complex Redevelopment
Golden Mile Complex, known for its typewriter-like terraced facade, has been designated as a conserved building by Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority. A prime example of Brutalist architecture, it will be restored and redeveloped into a mixed-use development with office, retail, and residential spaces.
4. The M
The M is a premium mixed-use development nestled in the heart of Singapore’s dynamic central region. It comprises of three 20-storey towers and a six-storey tower with 522 residential and commercial units on the ground floor. The project has recently obtained its Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) in 2023.
