Within how many years do I need to sell HDB when I inherit another HDB?

If you inherit an HDB flat and you already own another HDB flat, you are required to sell one of the two HDB flats within 6 months of taking ownership of the inherited HDB flat. This is because HDB regulations do not allow an individual to own more than one HDB flat at any given time.

You have two options:
- Keep the inherited HDB flat and sell your existing HDB flat within 6 months.
- Keep your existing HDB flat and sell the inherited HDB flat within 6 months, provided the Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) for the inherited flat has been met. If the MOP has not been met, you would need to approach HDB for assistance and appeal to sell the flat before its MOP.
