The Singapore government has announced a one-off property tax rebate for owner-occupied residential properties in 2025. For HDB flats, the rebate is 20%, while for private residential properties, it is 15%, capped at $1,000. This rebate will automatically offset any property tax payable.
Effective from January 1, 2025, the Annual Value (AV) bands for owner-occupied residential properties have been revised. The first AV band has been raised from $8,000 to $12,000, meaning all one- and two-room HDB flats will continue to pay no property tax in 2025. Other HDB flats and private residential properties will see lower property taxes due to these revisions.
The property tax rates for owner-occupied residential properties are as follows:
All owner-occupied HDB flats and over 90% of owner-occupied private residential properties will see lower property tax bills in 2025 due to the rebate and the revised AV bands.
Property tax can be paid through various methods, including GIRO, PayNow QR, AXS, and internet banking, using the property tax reference number.
